Prof. Chuanlang Zhan received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree from Jilin University and his Ph.D. from Institute of Photographic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), PR China. He then joined the CAS Key laboratory of Organic Solids, Institute of Chemistry, CAS (ICCAS) as a postdoctoral research fellow and was later promoted to Associate Professor at this institute. In 2004-2006 he spent two years as a Postdoc research fellow at Institute Européen de Chimie et Biologie and Panum Institute, University of Copenhagen. He was then back to ICCAS at the CAS key laboratory of Photochemistry, and currently, a Professor of Chemistry, CAS Key Laboratory of Photochemistry,Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
His research activities and interests focus on
—Synthesis, properties, and device engineering of organic photovoltaic materials, particularly, the non-fullerene small-molecule acceptors and small-molecule donors.
—Synthesis, self-assembly, structure, and properties of organic functional materials.
—Synthesis and folding structure of foldamers.
—Synthesis, two-photon absorption, three-photon absorption, and nonlinear optical properties of organic materials.
He has published more than 100 scientific papers in the highly recognized scientific journals such as J. Am. Chem. Soc.; Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.; Adv. Mater.; Adv. Energy Mater.; Chem.Mater.; Acs Appl. Mater. & Interfaces; Chem. Commun; etc. His publications have received 3,000 citations with a h-index of 30.
